I'm from Jharkhand, do you know?
-------++++-------
We are just out from mum's womb,
Delights us still, mother's lap and peer group,
Dream I have, that I can't express, as I can't frame now,
Being asleep, I smile and also I cry,
Mother tells me, while sleeping, "I am more beautiful, expressive and different".

Ho is my language,
Yet, to understand Hindi and English, our adults they know,
Mama is telling me, I have to learn, even though I don't know that.

From land, my parents get grains, pulses and vegetables,
Some time, we eat chicken, meat and fish that my mother cooks,
I get fun out of chocolates and biscuits, while she purchases ration.

I see pictures in television and news papers, though the letters and words I don't know,
Those are different, unlike my village, I know,
Father tells me, "those are big cities and towns",
He tells me, one day, I have to go there down.

He doesn't know, how much I'm  scared of them now,
That doesn't match mine, anything around.

I'm a Ho, from Jharkhand do you know?
